They Think We Can Do Crafts????

To catch you up on some of the things you missed when we didn't have internet access:

We visited a folk museum on a rainy, miserable day and they decided that crafts would be a good thing to do since we really couldn't be outside. We were given a piece of metal, some paint and some "rocks" to make a design on the metal. Our creations were then fired and put on necklaces. Don't have pictures of them but we didn't do too bad-however none of them came out looking like we imagined after they were fired and the "rocks" melted.

Then after the lovely tea ceremony Anne mentioned in an earlier blog - she does such a nice job of describing things - very poetic - they took us to a ceramic studio to make ceramics. This proved we are Not artisians. The master is in the middle with his students. Of course, we couldn't take our lovely creations with us as they had to be fired (I think he probably put the clay back into lumps to use for the next unsuspecting students). Check out our lovely aprons. Kelly and Jason got theirs off before we took the picture but Duwayno certainly looks dashing in his. You do need to know that the aprons didn't keep us from having clay on our clothes and shoes - we were all pretty much of a mess.
